Cat never misses an opportunity for a session

Meet Minneau, one of my cats. Miss Minn never misses an opportunity for a Reiki session. She even loves to lounge in the Energy studio whenever she can.
Miss Minn’s first Reiki session was about 2 years ago. She became lethargic and dehydrated quite quickly. I made a bland diet for her which she showed absolutely no interest in. Neither was she interested in drinking. She actually went into my closet and just stayed there, with her large, sad eyes. I brought a tiny bit of the chicken I had boiled for her and a bit of water into the closet to try to entice her to eat or drink. I sat on the floor, put the bowls on the floor in front of me, and pulled her into my lap, offering her Reiki energy. After a few minutes, she actually took a nibble of her food! It truly wasn’t much more than a tiny nibble, but it was a huge deal! I offered her food, water, and short Reiki sessions frequently and she began to “come around”. She did eventually return to her old self, and is still a fan of her Reiki sessions. If I sit for more than a minute, she is there and will actually wrap her paws around my arm to pull my hand to her.
Animals are highly intuitive and have an innate understanding of energy. Hence they also understand Reiki and quite often welcome it. Animals can benefit from Reiki in the same way people do. Reiki promotes a sense of peace and relaxation and allows their bodies to do what is necessary for healing. As with people, healing is always for the highest good. One thing I caution my students and clients about is that healing does not always equal curing. Healing can also be a reduction of pain or other symptoms so that quality of life improves, or can help ease the transition to passing - not just for our animals, but for us humans as well.
In addition to being a Reiki Master Teacher, I have an additional certificate in Animal Reiki. So not only do I provide Reiki services for animals, I am also happy to teach and attune you to Reiki so that you can provide Reiki yourself! Reiki on a regular “maintenance” type basis helps keep us and our animals in better balance.
